Catastylus species are photosynthetic, meaning they contain a symbiotic algae within themselves and as such, like corals, require a strong source of light to stimulate the internal algae. Keeping them under a metal halide light and feeding them enriched brine shrimp is the current regime. Feeding needs to be done multiple times daily for this species to maintain size.
I have heard these arrive in colors of blue, purple, red and yellow. As yet I have had very little luck keeping these beyond 60 days. They reduce in size and eventually begin to fall apart.
